Taylor Krieger

Principal Data Scientist at J.D. Power

Taylor Krieger has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. They began their career as an intern at the Maryland Department of Disabilities in 2006. In 2007, they worked as a Project Manager for Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia. From 2008 to 2011, they served as a Data Analyst for the School District of Philadelphia, conducting GIS-based studies and performing data analysis.

In 2011, Krieger joined The Johns Hopkins University as a Data Analyst, where they led studies on crime and distance effects on student attendance and researched the impact of distance from school on chronic absenteeism.

In 2016, Krieger became a Data Scientist at Synchronoss Technologies, managing predictive modeling and analyzing customer data for clients such as Verizon and NTT Plala. They used Big Data to identify customers most likely to churn or upsell, aiming to improve marketing efforts.

In 2018, Krieger joined J.D. Power as a Senior Data Scientist, where they focused on big data, machine learning, and text mining to enhance car value estimation and long-term forecasting models. They also led the implementation of R/Spark/AWS integration and took on the role of Principal Data Scientist in 2021.

Lastly, Krieger worked as a Data Scientist for Newfields from 2012 to 2018, leading statistical analysis on health and environmental impact assessments for various projects in the oil/gas and mining industries. They also conducted advanced statistical analysis on household wealth changes resulting from Exxon Mobil's Papa New Guinea Liquid Natural Gas project.

Taylor Krieger obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Political Science and Government, as well as Philosophy from Tulane University. They then pursued a Certificate in Finance at The Wharton School in 2009-2010. Later, Taylor completed a Master's Degree in Predictive Analytics from Northwestern University in 2013-2015. Additionally, in 2005-2007, they acquired an MA in Public Policy from The Johns Hopkins University.
