Garrett Skaar is a seasoned food scientist with extensive experience in product development and commercialization within the meat industry. Currently serving as Principal Scientist at JBS USA since February 2023, Garrett previously held significant roles such as Director of Product at Lumachain and Product Development Manager at Maple Leaf Farms. Noteworthy contributions include leading R&D efforts at Tyson Foods, where responsibilities encompassed cost savings and brand maintenance for the Jimmy Dean Retail Refrigerated portfolio, as well as optimizing food service products. Garrett holds a Master’s degree in Meat Science from Kansas State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from Iowa State University, alongside a history of internships and assistant roles in research and development.
