Elsa Benjamin

Associate Principal, Senior Architect at Jasmax

Elsa Benjamin is a Senior Architect with more than 30 years of international architectural experience. Her interest and expertise lie in designing and delivering large-scale developments, including hospitality, hotels, airports, retirement living and education projects.

Elsa is particularly passionate about projects that make a positive contribution to their surrounding public realm, as well as adaptive reuse projects that present challenges and opportunities to breathe new life into existing buildings. She has strong interpersonal and client liaison skills, and enjoys being part of a collaborative project team, to which she brings extensive site experience and the capacity to formulate practical solutions to unexpected situations.

While at Jasmax, Elsa has worked on various projects for Millennium & Copthorne Hotels, Auckland International Airport, the recently opened QT Hotel in Auckland and the Beatrice Tinsley Building at the University of Canterbury. She is currently working on Queenstown Airport and Te Pā Tāhuna apartments and townhouses, also in Queenstown.

Prior to relocating to New Zealand, Elsa worked in Padua, Italy on the restoration and renovation of heritage buildings.
