Associate Principal, Pou Urungi, Strategy & Development at Jasmax

Apenti (Ngāriki Kaipūtahi, Te Aitanga-a-Māhaki, Ngāti Manu, Te Whakatōhea) has an innate ability to connect people and kaupapa and brings a skillset focused on cultural thought leadership and alignment of iwi/Māori aspirations.

Apenti is positioned within Jasmax to lead and manage the strategic direction of the Waka Māia, Māori design team. Drawing on his experience in the public and private sectors, he also has a particular focus on how Jasmax can leverage and fully realise its potential as thought leaders across major sectors such as justice, health and housing. Apenti brokers important and diverse external relationships with iwi/ hapū as well as government agencies. His ability to navigate through complex environments is what he brings to the work and project here at Jasmax.

Outside of Jasmax, Apenti has held positions on numerous boards including the NZ Hi-Tech Trust, NZ Innovation Hub, East Coast Hawkes Bay Conservation Board (Chair) and Mangatū Marae Trust.
