Renee Jocic has a diverse work experience beginning in 2013. Renee started as an Undergraduate Researcher in Bernick's Lab at UC Santa Cruz and then became the iGem Researcher/Team Captain, organizing the 2nd UCSC iGem team. Renee then moved to the Joint BioEnergy Institute in 2015, where they worked as a Research Assistant in Jay Keasling's lab focusing on the production of high-value chemicals in Streptomyces by expressing heterologous type I modular polyketide synthases. In 2017, they became a Research Associate at Molecular Assemblies, Inc. and then in 2019, they were a Research Associate II at COI Pharmaceuticals and a Senior Research Associate at Janux Therapeutics.
Renee Jocic attended Palos Verdes High School from 2006 to 2010. Renee then went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Biology, General from the University of California, Santa Cruz between 2010 and 2015.
