Marie Hopkins possesses a diverse skill set with extensive experience in telecommunications management and information technology. Currently serving as Admin Coordinator II at James City County since March 2022, Marie has also contributed as a Volunteer ESL Tutor with Literacy For Life since March 2021. Previous roles include Telecommunications Network Specialist at James City County from August 1996 to December 2020 and Telecommunications Manager at Bon Secours DePaul Medical Center from 1989 to 1996, where responsibilities included supervising a team providing 24/7 communication services and managing a successful physician's answering service. Marie served as a Lieutenant Commander in the US Navy from 1980 to 1990, specializing in cryptology and signals intelligence. Holding a Master¡¯s degree in English with a concentration in Professional Writing from Old Dominion University and a Bachelor¡¯s degree in French from the University at Albany, Marie brings strong communication and leadership skills to all endeavors.
