Dacia Barnes-Young has extensive work experience in various finance and accounting roles. Dacia started their career in 1989 with Air Jamaica, where they held multiple positions, including Accounts Assistant, Team Leader, Supervisor in Sales Accounting, and eventually Manager of Sales Accounting. In this role, they managed a team and oversaw auditing and reporting for ticket sales and refunds.
In 2010, Dacia joined Pepsi-Cola Jamaica Bottling Company Ltd as a Senior Financial Analyst. Their responsibilities included reviewing financial statements, analyzing sales revenues and expenses, developing forecasts, and consolidating monthly results and budgets.
From 2012 to 2015, Dacia worked at Columbus Communications Jamaica Ltd. (Flow) as a Senior Business Support Analyst. Their main duties included financial modeling and analysis, P&L and business case analysis, budgeting and forecasting, financial management, and acting as a key business partner.
In 2015, Dacia joined Digicel Group and held various roles, including Senior Financial Planning & Analysis Manager, Group Technical Financial Controller, and Group Operations Financial Controller. In these positions, they provided accurate financial analysis, supported senior management and operations in capital investments and operational areas, managed business cases, and led planning activities.
Currently, Dacia is working at Jamaica Public Service Company Limited as the Head of Budgeting and Business Performance. Prior to this role, they served as the Head of Capital Investments and O&M Management.

Dacia Barnes-Young has a strong education background in business and finance. Dacia earned a Diploma in Management Studies from the Jamaican Institute of Management (JIM) in 1993, followed by a Bachelor's degree in Finance and International Business from the University of Technology (UTECH) in 2004. In 2005, they obtained a Certificate in Jamaican Securities from the JIM. Dacia then pursued a Master's in Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Banking and Finance from the Mona School of Business at the University of the West Indies, which they completed in 2011. In 2014, they further enhanced their skills by completing a Certificate program in Project Management at the Mona School of Business.
