About the Role

The role is a 10 week internship based in our London office, with the successful candidate being required to work 2-3 days a week in our London office. The role is full time, 5 days per week Mon-Fri. 

We are seeking a highly motivated and technical minded analyst intern to join our analytics department.  This paid internship opportunity will allow you to gain hands-on experience in analysing customer data, contributing to strategic discussions, cost reduction initiatives and process improvements. You will take end to end ownership of a specific project that focusses on supporting the enhancement of the New Business Originations strategies. 

Project Details 

As an Analytics intern, you will work on an end-to-end project that you drive and deliver on to enhance New Business Origination strategy, gain hands-on experience in data analysis, support strategic initiatives, and improve processes.  

Your project will consist of: 

  • Analysing large datasets to identify opportunities for strategy optimization.
  • Understanding and utilising data from a Credit Reference Agencies.
  • Conducting swap set analysis, impact assessments and other techniques to help enhance strategy decisions.
  • Identifying areas of business continuity, strategy uplifts, and high-risk populations.
  • Ensuring the methodologies used are replicable and applicable across all Jaja products.
  • Automating and optimising processes to improve efficiency.

This project is a great opportunity to extend knowledge and enhance your skills in the following ways: 

  • Becoming proficient with tools such as SQL, Tableau, and Excel, as you will use these throughout your project.
  • Gaining business knowledge around credit assessment and customer acquisition within the fintech industry.
  • Understanding the focuses and priorities of external teams, as your analyses and forecasts will be utilised by multiple stakeholders across Jaja to assess and enhance our performance.

New Business Originations 

The New Business Origination team play a crucial role within the customer acquisition and risk assessment process within JAJA. Our primary responsibility is to evaluate and assess the creditworthiness of potential customers seeking a Credit Card. 

  • Analyse how data drives decisions based on whether a customer is accepted for a credit card
  • Understand the customer journey from a data and systems perspective and seek opportunities to optimise
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data, conduct analysis, and generate insights

About You  

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Finance or Business.

  • Interested in data analysis and visualisation (Excel, Looker, Tableau, Power BI, Google Sheets, etc.).

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Self-motivated and eager to learn.

  • Knowledge of programming languages (SQL, R, Python, MATLAB, Java, C#) is a plus.
