LaTanya Hart worked as a Technology Teacher at HCSD starting in August 2016. Prior to that, they were a District Leader at Primerica starting in December 2015. Before joining Primerica, they worked as a teacher at Jackson Public Schools from August 2013. From August 2012 to June 2013, they worked as a Teacher at Canton Public Schools. LaTanya Hart began their teaching career at Hazlehurst City School District in October 2008 and worked there until June 2011.

LaTanya Hart's education history begins in 1998 when they attended Copiah-Lincoln Community College, where they earned an Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree in Accounting and Business/Management in 1999. LaTanya then pursued a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) degree in Accounting at Jackson State University from 2001 to 2003. Continuing their education, they later attended Belhaven University from 2013 to 2015, where they obtained a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Secondary Education and Teaching.
