Samih Toukan has a long history of success in the Internet and technology industry. Samih co-founded Maktoob.com in 2000, which was the world's first Arabic email platform and largest Arab Online community. In 2009, Maktoob.com was acquired by Yahoo! in a groundbreaking technology deal. Following this, Toukan co-founded Souq.com in 2005, which became the Arab world's largest e-commerce site and was eventually acquired by Amazon in 2017. Currently, Toukan serves as the Chairman and CEO of the Jabbar Internet Group, one of the leading investors in Internet and technology companies in the region.
Samih Toukan attended UCL from 1987 to 1990, where they earned a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering. Samih then pursued further education at ECOLE HEC France from 1990 to 1992, earning a Master's degree in Management and International Business.
