Derrick Leong has extensive experience in the legal field, particularly in the areas of security tokens and tokenization. Derrick currently holds the position of Senior Legal Counsel at IX Swap, where they facilitate access to diverse private market investment opportunities through the company's Security Token Exchange and various other platforms. Prior to this, Derrick worked at InvestaX in the same role, where they played a significant role in the development and operation of their Tokenization SaaS platform. Derrick also served as a Senior Associate at Christopher & Lee Ong from 2018 to 2022. Before that, they worked at Wong & Partners, a member firm of Baker McKenzie International, where they held the positions of Associate and Chambering Pupil, focusing on dispute resolution and intellectual property.
Derrick Leong began their education at SK Damansara Utama from 2000 to 2005. Derrick then attended SMK Damansara Jaya from 2006 to 2010. In 2011, they studied Cambridge A-Levels at Taylor's College. From 2012 to 2015, Derrick pursued their Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree at UCL. Derrick also obtained additional certifications as an Advocate & Solicitor from the High Court of Malaya and as a Barrister-at-Law of England and Wales from The Honourable Society of the Middle Temple, although the specific dates of these certifications are not provided.
