Michael Smalley has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Michael started their career in 2004 as the President/CEO of First Impressions, LLC, where they managed a local landscape and general maintenance business. Michael then worked as a Senior Project Manager and Operations Manager at NSL, LLC from December 2006 to August 2007, where they estimated, bid, designed, and managed landscaping projects. In 2008, they served as an Intern-Assistant Project Manager at Key Construction. From August 2010 to July 2012, they worked as a Project Engineer at EM Harris Construction Company, creating and tracking project budgets and schedules. In 2012, they joined IWR North America as a Preconstruction Manager, specializing in enclosure packages and focusing on budgeting, estimating, and design-assist efforts. Michael currently serves as the Director of Business Development at IWR North America since January 2019. Additionally, they were the Chairman of the Board at Building Enclosure Council of St. Louis starting from July 2015.

Michael Smalley attended Missouri State University from 2006 to 2010, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree. Their areas of focus included Construction Management, Real Estate Finance, and Structural Engineering.
