Lorenzo Gumier has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Lorenzo is currently working as a Renewable Energy Asset Manager at BayWa r.e. Global since June 2022. In their previous role at IWB Industrielle Werke Basel, they focused on developing an IT architecture and Business Intelligence platform to monitor and improve the performance of renewable energy assets. Prior to that, at Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, they worked as a Researcher studying economic and regulatory factors driving investments in Wind and PV Power in the European Energy Market. Lorenzo has also worked as a Product Engineer at PPTG - Vision Extrusion Group and Bticino, and as a Quality Manager and Process Engineer at Legrand. At Legrand, they supervised a 10-employee team, conducted portfolio analysis, managed product recalls, and designed a web-platform for collecting customer complaints. Lorenzo began their career as an R&D cooling system designer at Whirlpool Corporation.
Lorenzo Gumier completed their Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Mechanical Engineering from Politecnico di Milano in the years 2000 to 2003. They further pursued a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the same institution, graduating in the years 2003 to 2005. In 2013 to 2015, Lorenzo pursued another Master's Degree, this time in Renewable Energy Management, from The University of Freiburg. In 2015, they attended ETH Zürich for the European Campus of Excellence program, though the field of study is unspecified. Lastly, in 2023, Lorenzo completed an MBA Essentials program in Business Administration and Management, General at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
