Kai Sametinger has a diverse work experience background. Kai started their career in 2002 as a Project Manager at Basel Agency for Sustainable Energy (BASE), where they promoted increased finance sector engagement in sustainable energy. After that, in 2005, they joined forseo GmbH as a Project Manager, responsible for building international networks in the renewable energy industry and the finance sector. In 2009, they became a Project Leader at EnCT, and then transitioned to the role of Product Manager at badenova AG Co. KG in 2010. Kai later moved to IWB Industrielle Werke Basel in 2014, where they currently hold the position of Product Manager.

Kai Sametinger pursued their Master's degree in Geography at Otto-Friedrich-Universität Bamberg from 1992 to 2000.
