Claude Stäger's work experience begins in 1997 as an Investment Controller Trainee at GEA AG. After that, they worked as a Process Manager at E.ON Vertriebs GmbH and E.ON Bayern AG. In 2003, Claude joined E.ON Energie AG as a Senior Sales Controller and Energy Economist, eventually becoming a Responsible Project Manager for setting up product controlling for private and commercial customers. They then joined E.ON Vertrieb Deutschland GmbH as the Head of Product Controlling for private and commercial customers. In 2010, Claude became a Senior Controller for residential and business customers at E.ON Energie Deutschland GmbH. From 2014 until 2015, they worked as a specialist in the liberalized energy market as a freelancer. Finally, Claude joined IWB Industrielle Werke Basel in 2015 as a Senior Controller in Vertrieb.

Claude Stäger pursued their education in a chronological manner. From 1986 to 1993, they attended the Ruhr-University of Bochum, where they obtained a degree in Graduate Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Energy Technology and Power Plants. Following this, from 1993 to 1996, they furthered their studies at the same university, earning a degree in Graduate Economic Engineering, specializing in Controlling.
