Joe Heary has worked for a variety of companies since 1988. Joe began their career as an Instrumentalist for the USAF Band of Liberty in 1988. In 1993, they joined Cabletron Systems as a UNIX Systems Administrator. In 1994, they worked as a Systems Operator for Rite Aid and a Manager of Web Technology and UNIX Systems Programmer II for Capital Blue Cross. In 1998, they became the Divisional Assistant Vice President of Capital Markets Technology for PaineWebber. In 2000, they were Technical Director of Systems Engineering for CrossLogix. From 2002 to 2013, they worked at MetLife, where they held various positions such as Assistant Vice President of Investments Operations, PMO, Assistant Vice-President of Investments Operations, and Assistant Vice-President of Investments Finance & Operations. In 2013, they became the Chief Technology Officer & VP of Technical Operations for Zimmerman Associates, Inc. Since 2015, Joe has been the Executive VP & CIO and Founder/President of Ivyhill Technologies. Ivyhill Technologies is a CVE verified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) that delivers Information Technology services to commercial businesses, and Federal, State, & Local Government Agencies.
Joe Heary obtained their Bachelor of Music from Shenandoah University in 1985, followed by a Master of Music (MM) in Instrumental Conducting from the same university in 1988. In 1992, they earned a Certificate in Computer Programming & Accounting from MCINTOSH COLLEGE. Finally, in 2004, they completed their Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
