James Mitchell's work experience began in 2006 at Peachtree Financial Solutions, where they worked as an Accounting Analyst from June 2010 to October 2011. Prior to that, from May 2006 to June 2010, they held the position of FP&A Analyst at the same company. In 2011, they joined Tyco Security Products as an FP&A Analyst and worked there until July 2014. From July 2014 to May 2015, they worked as a Senior Financial Analyst at Tyco Integrated Security. In 2015, they joined Blackbaud as a Senior Financial Analyst and remained with the company until July 2021. Currently, they are employed at Ivanti since July 2021, working as a Senior Finance Manager until March 2022. Subsequently, they transitioned to the role of Director Sales Operations, and their employment continues.

James Mitchell attended the University of Florida from 2002 to 2006, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Finance, General. In 2004 to 2005, they also briefly attended Florida State University, majoring in Finance, General.
