Deon Pretorius is an experienced project manager specializing in EPCM project management within the mining and engineering sectors. Currently serving as a Project Manager at Ivanhoe Mines since February 2023, Pretorius previously held the position of Senior Project Manager at Hatch from January 2022 to February 2023, and at SGS Bateman from July 2006 to December 2021. Earlier in the career, Pretorius worked as a Senior Electrical Engineer at PARSONS BRINCKERHOFF and as a Senior Project Engineer at Eskom Holdings SOC Ltd. Pretorius holds an MBA in Business Administration and Management and two engineering degrees from the University of Pretoria, including a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) in Electrical Engineering and a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) (Hons) in Technology Management.
