Ajit Katharopoulos has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Ajit started their career in 1992 as an Engineer, Technical Proposal Management at General Dynamics Land Systems. In this role, they were responsible for gathering inputs across the organization to submit proposals in response to Defense Department requests. Ajit also developed a relational database to streamline the proposal process.
In 1994, Ajit joined General Motors as a Design and Liaison Engineer, where they worked on exterior trim launches for multiple product programs and assembly centers. Ajit later transitioned to the role of Senior Design Project Engineer, where they managed the engineering, design, development, and validation of various components and subsystems.
Within General Motors, Ajit took on more significant roles, including Supplier Innovation Manager and Global Purchasing/Commodity Manager. As a Commodity Manager, they led global teams of up to 25 buyers and managed supplier strategies, resulting in annual savings exceeding $10M through negotiations and benchmarking.
In 2016, Ajit joined Illinois Tool Works (ITW) as Director Of Innovation, where they oversaw innovation initiatives. Ajit then moved on to ITW Deltar Fasteners, where they currently serve as the Marketing and Innovation Director.

Ajit Katharopoulos has a diverse education history. Ajit obtained their Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering and Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan from 1987 to 1992. Later, they pursued a Master's degree in Management of Technology from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, completing it from 1999 to 2001.
