Lance Richard has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Lance is currently the Vice President of Market Access at iThera Medical GmbH, a position they have held since June 2023. Prior to that, Lance served as the Managing Director at Value to Access Consulting from April 2023.
Lance's most significant role was at INSIGHTEC, where they worked from January 2015 to May 2023. Lance held two positions during this time, starting as the Director of Reimbursement for Europe and Asia and later becoming the Senior Director of Global Value and Access Strategy. In these roles, Lance was responsible for driving global reimbursement and creating value propositions and pricing strategies. Lance also built and led a team of market access and health outcomes professionals.
Before INSIGHTEC, Lance worked at Eisai from December 2011 to January 2015. Here, they held the position of Head of Market Access at Eisai EMEA, Russia, and Australasia, as well as being the Market Access Lead for Israel. In these roles, they developed and implemented global and regional market access and pricing strategies and ensured unrestricted market access and fair pricing.
Other notable experiences include their role as the ABPI Representative on AWMSG Committee at All Wales Medicines Strategy Group from January 2013 to January 2015, their position as the Global Market Access Manager at Norgine from October 2009 to December 2011, and their role as the Director and Head of Market Access at GfK from January 2009 to October 2009.
Lance's early career includes roles as the Senior Health Economist at UCB Pharma from June 2006 to December 2008, the Senior Health Outcomes Analyst at Heron Evidence Development from 2001 to 2006, and the Lecturer, Researcher, and Consultant at the Department of Pharmacy, University of the Witwatersrand from January 1999 to December 2000.
Lance Richard has a diverse education history. Lance obtained an MSc in Health Technology Assessment and International Reimbursement from The University of Sheffield. Lance also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Health Economics from the University of York. Lance has a degree in Pharmacy, specifically an MPharm, from the University of the Witwatersrand. In terms of certifications, they have completed courses such as "Advanced Valuation and Strategy - M&A, Private Equity, and Venture Capital" from Coursera, "Visual Basic for Excel" from BEST Training, and "Introduction to Corporate Finance" from Redcliffe Training. Lance also holds a PRINCE2 Practitioner certification from APMG-UK in the field of Project Management. Lance has acquired additional certifications related to various aspects of health economics and pharmaceutical pricing throughout their career.
