Andrew King has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Andrew started their career in 2013 as an Undergraduate Student Researcher at the Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies, where they surveyed plant species in protected natural areas and provided results to support conservation efforts. In the same year, they also worked as a Spatial Researcher at the University of Wisconsin-Madison Space Science and Engineering Center, acquiring spatial data for online accessibility and presenting project goals at research symposiums.
In 2014, Andrew joined the U.S. Geological Survey as an IT Technician, maintaining and testing website content and creating documentation for wildlife disease reporting forms. Andrew remained in this role until 2016.
From 2016 to 2021, Andrew worked at TrafficCast International, Inc., initially as a Data Editor, validating and correcting traffic data nationwide, and managing major traffic events for efficient routing information. Andrew then transitioned to the role of Quality Engineer, where they continued to ensure data accuracy and efficiency.
In 2021, Andrew joined Iteris, Inc. as an Engineer, starting as a Quality I and later becoming a Quality III. In this role, they serve as a Program Manager for an open source map standardization initiative, integrating updated map data, ensuring data integrity during system transitions, and addressing issues with suppliers and clients to improve traffic data delivery for millions of North American drivers.
Andrew King earned their Bachelor's Degree in Geographic Information Systems and Cartography from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2015.
