Tryana Garza-Cruz is a Principal Geomechanics Engineer and General Manager at Itasca Consulting Group, Inc. since October 2011, previously serving as a Senior Geomechanics Engineer. Prior experience includes an internship at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, where Tryana conducted literature reviews and numerical modeling on Rotary-Vibratory drilling, as well as research on geothermal potential in Rico, Colorado. Academic roles include research and teaching assistant positions at the Colorado School of Mines, focusing on numerical modeling and mechanical behavior characterization, with multiple research projects related to lunar resource utilization and granular systems modeling under NASA sponsorship. Tryana holds a PhD in Engineering Systems from the Colorado School of Mines, an MSc in Renewable Energy Science from RES, and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Tecnológico de Monterrey.
