Lucia Pedicini is a research scientist at AIRC - The Italian Foundation for Cancer Research since June 2022, contributing to the AIRC-IFOM Drug Discovery Program within the High Throughput Biology and Screening Unit. Prior to this position, Lucia served as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Leeds, focusing on the role of Rab46 in immune-mediated inflammatory diseases, utilizing primary cell-based assays for investigation. Lucia has experience as a PhD student at the University of Leeds, studying the functions and mechanisms of a new Rab GTPase in endothelial cells, and also gained insights into mast cell research during a summer placement at Charité. Additional experience includes a post-graduate fellowship at Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna in nanostructures for cell stimulation, as well as foundational education in biology at the University of Pisa, culminating in a Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biological Science and a Master’s in Biology applied to bio-medical sciences.
