Peter Allen has held various roles in the corporate world since 2004. Peter began their career as Chairman of Chroma Therapeutics in 2004. In 2011, they were appointed Chairman of Future plc and Oxford Nanopore Technologies Ltd. In 2012, they became Chairman of Clinigen Group. In 2013, they were appointed Non Executive Director of Mecom Group Plc and SCANCELL LIMITED. In 2014, they were appointed Chairman of Advanced Medical Solutions. In 2015, they became Chairman of Diurnal Limited. In 2017, they were appointed Non Executive Director of Istesso. Most recently, in 2018, they were appointed Chairman of Abcam.

Peter Allen attended Sevenoaks School from 1969 to 1973, and then went on to pursue a Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy and Law at the University of Kent from 1974 to 1977. In 1981, they obtained an ACA certification from the ICAEW.
