Georg Singewald is Head of Global MSAT & Engineering at Roche/Genentech TechOps based in Basel, Switzerland. Georg’s career has spanned the globe providing him operational experiences in Europe, Asia-Pacific and the US and exposing him to many different cultures. Throughout his career, Georg has been leading many continual improvement initiatives and he demonstrated leadership, creativity and collaboration in delivering multiple technology and innovation transformations. In his current role at Roche/Genentech, Georg is focusing on integrating product health, process health with equipment fit-for-purpose and facility readiness in support of the manufacturing network and new modalities capability. Georg’s experience includes Site, Regional and Global Quality- and Operations- Roles such as VP, Global Head of Quality Control with Roche, Managing Director of Pharmanalytica SA in Switzerland, responsible for the full operations of the Site, and Regional Quality Head roles with Novartis in Singapore covering internal Sites and CMO portfolios across Asia-Pacific and the Middle East.
Georg is an active ISPE member, having engaged in various ISPE Affiliates and Chapters over the years organizing talent development and workforce of the future sessions, and chairing tracks at various ISPE conferences, including the ISPE Biotech Conference 2020, Singapore Conference 2020/2021 & Asia Pacific Conference 2021. He served as the Regulatory Chair in the ISPE Singapore Affiliate in 2017/2018, where he was awarded “Friends of ISPE Singapore” in 2019 recognizing his continuous support to the APAC region. He is actively engaging in Quality and Technology working groups of industry trade associations (PhRMA, EFPIA) and University programs. An Austrian national, Georg holds an MSc degree in Pharmacy, a PhD in Pharmacology from the University of Innsbruck, and an Executive MBA in Supply Chain Management from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology - ETH. He is also an approved EU Qualified Person.
