Abhishek Pokharel has a diverse work experience in various roles and organizations. Abhishek is currently working as a Client Manager at SENTRY since January 2022. Prior to this, they served as a ClimateSense: Infrastructure Resilience Intern at the University of Prince Edward Island from January 2021 to January 2022. In this role, they worked with the Town of Stratford and the City of Charlottetown, building adaptation capacity in recent post-secondary students and host organizations in the public and private sectors of PEI.

Abhishek also worked as a Graduate Research Student at the University of Prince Edward Island from September 2018 to August 2020. Their research focused on the application of biochar in activated sludge wastewater treatment and anaerobic digestion of sludge. Abhishek designed and carried out experiments using Response Surface Methodology in batch reactors to analyze the cascading effect of biochar. Abhishek also worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant during the same period.

Before that, Abhishek worked as an Environmental Engineer at Abhiyantra Consulting Pvt. Ltd from October 2017 to February 2018. Abhishek was involved in the initial study of the East-West Railway, Butwal-Lamahi section in Nepal and provided support for the preparation of various IEE and EIA documents.

Overall, Abhishek's experience spans across client management, infrastructure resilience, research, teaching assistance, and environmental engineering.

Abhishek Pokharel pursued their education in a chronological manner. From 2013 to 2017, they attended Kathmandu University (KU) and earned a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) degree in Environmental Engineering. After completing their undergraduate studies, they furthered their education and enrolled at the University of Prince Edward Island from 2018 to 2020. At this institution, they pursued a Master of Applied Science degree in Sustainable Design Engineering.
