Steve Loken has a diverse work experience in the medical field. Steve started in 2007 at Island Health as the Acting Chief Pathologist and later became the Medical Director and Department Head. In 2020, they became the Executive Medical Director. In 2023, they joined the Provincial Health Services Authority as the Chief Medical Laboratory Officer. Steve also had a role at Island Health as the Medical Lead and Anatomic Pathologist from 2008 to 2018.
Steve Loken obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in Archaeology from Simon Fraser University in 1992. Steve later pursued Medicine and earned a MD degree from the University of Calgary between 1995 and 2004.
