Abbas Shukri is an experienced program manager with a strong background in humanitarian aid and nutrition. Currently serving as Program Manager for Islamic Relief Worldwide overseeing a UKAID/FCDO funded project focused on resilience building in the Somali region, Abbas has successfully led various emergency and health programs during tenure with organizations such as Mercy Corps, UNDP, GOAL Global, and International Medical Corps. Significant achievements include strengthening humanitarian coordination capacity, managing multi-sectoral emergency responses, and providing technical support to sector coordinators. Abbas holds a Master's degree in International Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid from KALU Institute, a Master's in Nutrition Sciences from Jigjiga University, and a Bachelor's degree in Nursing from Central Health College.
