Alexa Horwart is an experienced health equity organizer currently at ISAIAH since October 2013 and has also served as a Refugee Health Program Fellow with The Minnesota Department of Health since May 2012, focusing on improving communication strategies for Limited English Proficiency communities. Previous roles include program assistant for Project Ignition at The National Youth Leadership Council, an Indonesia Semester Instructor for Where There Be Dragons, and an English Teaching Assistant through the Fulbright program. Alexa also has a background in communications, having interned at The Minnesota Council of Nonprofits, and has developed skills in human rights advocacy through an internship at The Center for Victims of Torture. Educational credentials include a Master of Public Policy in Health Policy from the Humphrey School of Public Affairs and a BA in International Relations and Journalism from Drake University.
