Adan Olivares Castro is a seasoned professional in mining engineering and environmental responsibility with significant experience across various roles. Currently serving as the Regional Lead for the Americas and the Caribbean at the IRMA Initiative for Responsible Mining Assurance, Adan facilitates stakeholder engagement and promotes improved environmental and social practices in mining. Prior roles include coordinating Latin America special projects, serving as a teaching assistant at Queen's University, and holding engineering positions at Rio Tinto and Teck Resources Limited, where Adan focused on geotechnical engineering and business improvement initiatives. Adan holds a Master's degree in Mining Engineering from Queen's University and a Bachelor's degree in Geological Engineering from The University of British Columbia.
