Matthew Piccoli

Matthew Piccoli has a wealth of experience in the technology field. Matthew began their career in 2008 as an intern at Willow Garage, where they gained experience in the field. The following year, they returned to Willow Garage as an intern. In 2010, they began their PhD studies at the University of Pennsylvania, where they designed, simulated, and built under-actuated flying micro aerial vehicles, including Piccolissimo, the world's smallest self-powered flying vehicle. Matthew also designed, built, and coded brushless motor electronic torque, position, and speed controllers, as well as an electronic and software database for programmatically created robots. In 2017, they became Co-Founder and CTO of Vertiq.

Matthew Piccoli received their Bachelor of Science in Engineering (BSE) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania in 2009. Matthew then went on to receive their Master of Science in Engineering (MSE) in Mechanical Engineering from the same institution in 2010. Finally, they earned their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania in 2015.
