John D.

Group Leader at IPK Leibniz-Institut

John D. is an experienced leader in molecular genetics, currently serving as the Group Leader of the Metabolic Diversity group at IPK Gatersleben since August 2019 and also a faculty member of the Max Planck IMPRS program. Prior to this position, John D. was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Texas Tech University from July 2013 to August 2019 and held the role of Project Leader in the Department of Biochemistry at the Max Planck Institute for Chemical Ecology from January 2003 to June 2013. Educational credentials include a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Molecular Cellular and Developmental Biology and a Master’s Degree in Biology from the University of Michigan, as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry from the University of California, Davis.
