Steven Weiss is an experienced professional in the fields of medical research and patent examination, currently serving as Adjunct Senior Fellow and Lecturer at Australian National University Medical School since 2012, focusing on persistent sodium current blockade to mitigate tissue damage from ischaemia and reperfusion. Parallel to this, Steven has been a Medical Device Patent Examiner at IP Australia since 2012 and is involved in the prosecution and commercialization of personal patents related to heart muscle damage reduction. Previously, Steven held leadership roles such as Chief Scientific Officer at NeoViva Pty Ltd, which aimed to improve therapeutic drug development for cardiac issues, and has extensive research experience at institutions like the John Curtin School of Medical Research.
