Yareli Reeve-Mendoza is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in civil rights and support services. Currently serving as the External Civil Rights Program Administrator at the Iowa Department of Transportation since August 2020, Yareli develops and implements Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives while assisting Disadvantaged Business Enterprises with various certification and educational needs. Previous roles include Veterans Resource Specialist at the University of Iowa, as well as multiple positions at California State University, Fullerton focusing on research and student support. Yareli has also gained experience as a Legislative Intern for the Department of Veterans Affairs, fostering relationships with Congressional staff. Yareli's military background includes service in the United States Air Force as a Security Forces member, managing emergency situations. Education includes a Doctor of Philosophy in Education Policy and Leadership Studies from the University of Iowa, a Master of Public Administration from California State University, Fullerton, a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, and an Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts.
