Graham Matthews

Graham Matthews has extensive experience in financial advisory and management roles in various companies. Graham started their career as a Vice President Investments at Working Ventures in 1995 and later became a General Partner at VenGrowth Private Equity Partners Inc. In these roles, they were responsible for deal flow generation, deal assessment and analysis, and negotiating and structuring equity-risk transactions.

In 2000, Matthews became a Board Member at Q9 Networks where they assisted in writing the original business plan and financing the company through its IPO. Graham served as Chairman of the Board from April 2004 to March 2007.

Throughout their career, Matthews also held positions as Chief Financial Officer in multiple companies, including evandtec, Peraso Technologies, Inc., Iotum, and Dundurn Press. In these roles, they were responsible for financial management, accounting, cash flow management, financial statements, audits, budgeting, and funding. Graham also played a role in overall corporate strategy and business planning.

Additionally, Matthews served as a Senior Finance Advisor and subsequently as Chief Financial Officer at LuminUltra Technologies Ltd. In this position, they oversaw the financial and accounting aspects of the company, including consolidations, financial statements, audits, and funding.

Most recently, Matthews worked as a Financial Advisor at Dalriada Drug Discovery, providing financial guidance to the company.

Throughout their career, Matthews has demonstrated expertise in financial management, investment analysis, and business strategy, and has played integral roles in the growth and success of the companies they have worked for.

Graham Matthews began their education at McMaster University in 1990, where they pursued a degree in Finance and Marketing. Graham successfully completed their Hon. BCOM degree in 1994. Afterward, they furthered their education by obtaining an MBA degree with a focus on Finance from McMaster University, which they completed in 1995.

In terms of certifications, Graham Matthews obtained the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) credential from the CFA Institute in September 1999. Subsequently, in September 2011, they obtained the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation with a specialization in Management Accounting (CMA) from CPA - CMA Ontario.
