Phil Solomon

Electrical Engineer at IonQ

Phil Solomon has a diverse work experience in the field of electrical engineering. Phil started working at IonQ Inc. in 2017 as an Electrical Engineer. Prior to that, they worked at Vista Research, Inc. from 2014 to 2017, where they designed multi-functional electronics for radar systems and flight computers. Phil also had a U.S. DoD Security Clearance during this time.

From 2010 to 2014, Phil worked at Syntonics LLC as an Electrical Engineer. Here, they were responsible for designing and assembling complex RF, digital, and optical circuit boards and assemblies. Phil also provided training and guidance to new users of Altium Designer, and was proficient in SPICE simulation for circuit development.

Before that, they were an RF Engineer at Thales from 2009 to 2010. During this time, they performed system verification testing of public safety radios and conducted RF spurious-emission testing on tactical software-defined radios. Phil implemented several design options to improve transceiver performance.

In 2008, Phil had an internship at Shure Incorporated as a PCB Design Intern. Here, they extensively used Mentor Graphics and PADS software for circuit design, schematic capture, and PCB layout. Phil also developed a training program for new employees to learn the PCB design process.

Phil Solomon attended Penn State University from 2005 to 2009, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. In 2010, they briefly attended The Johns Hopkins University, focusing on Electrical & Computer Engineering. Phil also holds the certification of Certified EIT in the pursuit of a Professional Engineer License, although no details regarding the institution or the year of acquisition were provided.
