Maxwell Ballenger has extensive work experience in various roles and companies. From 2022 onwards, they have been working at IonQ as a Staff Software Engineer, and later as a Software Engineering Manager. Prior to IonQ, they worked at Aeva, Inc from 2018 to 2022, where they held the position of Manager, Systems Test Engineering. Before that, they worked at SpaceX from 2012 to 2018, serving as a Software Engineer and later as the Lead Sensors Development Engineer. Maxwell'searliest work experience was at Ad Astra Rocket Company from 2009 to 2012, where they worked as a Test Engineer.

Maxwell Ballenger began their education journey in 2005 at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics & Astronomy. Maxwell successfully completed their undergraduate program in 2009. In 2020, Maxwell enrolled at the Georgia Institute of Technology, where they are currently pursuing a Master of Science degree in Computer Science. Maxwell is expected to complete their graduate studies in 2023.
