Tae-Won Kim possesses extensive experience in toxicology, currently serving as Vice President of Toxicology at Ionis Pharmaceuticals, Inc. since April 2001, with previous roles including Executive Director, Director, and Associate Director of Toxicology at the same company. Prior to Ionis, Tae-Won held the position of Group Leader at SUGEN, Inc. from July 1997 to March 2001 and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco - School of Medicine from July 1996 to December 1997. Academic training includes a Ph.D. in Toxicology from North Carolina State University, completed between September 1991 and June 1996, and specialized study in carcinogenesis during a postdoctoral program at the University of California, San Francisco. Early career experience includes roles as a Hepatitis B Vaccine Specialist at Green Cross Co. and as a First Lieutenant in the Korea Army ROTC.
