Raphaël van Roermund

Raphaël Van Roermund has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Raphaël started their career as an Electrician at AMEC SPIE in 2003. Later, they worked as a Researcher at CEA, where they focused on electronic transport through quantum dots. In 2011, they joined IBA as a Service Engineer and subsequently held positions as an R&D Physicist, Beam Physics Leader, and Project Optimization Manager. During their time at IBA, they played a key role in bridging the gap between R&D and production teams. In 2019, they joined HIL Applied Medical as a Research and Development Project Manager, leading innovative designs for new proton beam line technologies. Raphaël also worked on market strategy, collaboration with research institutes, and IP strategy. In 2020, they returned to IBA as the Head of Project Management. Throughout their career, Raphaël has demonstrated a passion for innovation, collaboration, and product optimization.

Raphaël Van Roermund completed their Master's degree in école polytechnique (Engineering) at Ecole polytechnique de Bruxelles from 2001 to 2007. Raphaël then pursued a Ph.D. in Physics at Université Grenoble Alpes, which they completed from 2007 to 2010. In 2015, they obtained Coursera Verified Certificates in Business Foundations from The Wharton School. Raphaël also completed a Master's degree in Subatomic Physics at Université Grenoble Alpes from 2006 to 2007. Prior to their higher education, they attended Athénée Emile Bockstael from 1995 to 2001. Additionally, they have obtained multiple certifications including Project Management Foundations, Software Project Management Foundations, Coaching and Developing Employees, Having Difficult Conversations: A Guide for Managers, Goal Setting: Objectives and Key Results (OKRs), The Science and Business of Biotechnology, Python Data Science, and Business Foundations Specialization.
