Julien Ouellet has a diverse work experience in various industries.
Julien currently works as a Project Director for FDI (Foreign Direct Investment) in the U.S. Southeast region at Investissement Québec since March 2023. Prior to this, they were a Project Manager for FDI in the New England and Canada region at the same company from September 2022 to March 2023.
Before joining Investissement Québec, Julien worked as a Business Development Manager for Canada at the Georgia Department of Economic Development from July 2021 to September 2022. Julien'sresponsibilities included coordinating Canadian FDI prospection for the State of Georgia, representing the department in trade shows and meetings with Canadian companies, and assisting Canadian companies in expanding in Georgia.
Julien also worked as an FDI and Trade Consultant at CIDEP from June 2021 to September 2022. In this role, they organized lead generation campaigns for European and North American economic development agencies, monitored economic trends and expansion projects, and produced market reports on the Canadian market. Additionally, they worked as a Trade Analyst at CIDEP from April 2021 to June 2021.
Prior to their roles in economic development, Julien gained experience in the food industry. Julien worked as a Manager at La Fromagerie Hamel from May 2018 to June 2021, where they were responsible for overseeing operations. Before that, they served as a Cheese Advisor from January 2016 to May 2018 and as a Senior Clerk from September 2013 to January 2016 at the same company. Julien began their career as a Clerk from May 2012 to September 2013 at La Fromagerie Hamel.
In terms of education, Julien worked as a Teaching Assistant in Political Science at the University of Montreal from January 2020 to December 2020, and as a Research Assistant in History at the University of Sherbrooke from January 2017 to November 2017.
Julien Ouellet completed a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Philosophy at the Université de Montréal from 2013 to 2016. Julien then pursued a Bachelor's degree in History, with an Honor program, from 2016 to 2019 at the same university. Finally, they obtained a Master's degree in Political Science from the Université de Montréal from 2019 to 2021.
