Sonya Shorey is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in strategy, marketing, and communications, currently serving as President and CEO of Invest Ottawa since January 2017 and previously held roles as Interim President and CEO and Vice President of Strategy, Marketing and Communications within the same organization. Shorey is also a World Economic Forum Fellow and a member of the Forbes Communications Council. From 2008, Shorey has led Sonya Shorey Consulting, providing strategic counsel to various organizations in entrepreneurship and economic development. Previous roles include Director of Marketing Communications at CMC Microsystems, Senior Manager of Communications and Organizational Development at Nortel Networks, and Manager of Recruitment at Calian. Shorey holds a Bachelor of Arts from Carleton University and completed the Executive MBA Strategy Program at Queen's University.
