Carmen C. Bernett, PhD, ENV SP, currently serves as the Deputy Director of Environmental Compliance and Strategy at Invenergy, where responsibilities include leading federal regulatory processes for the Leading Light Wind offshore wind project in the New York Bight. With extensive experience in environmental compliance, Carmen held various roles at VHB, including Deputy Project Manager for the Canadian Pacific and Kansas City Southern Rail Line merger EIS and Senior Environmental Scientist. Previous positions include serving as Lead Scientist at Booz Allen Hamilton, managing environmental policy projects for several government clients, and as Knowledge Manager at Mars, Inc. Carmen holds a PhD in Environmental Science and Policy, an MS in Biology and Ecology, and a BA in English and Art Studio from George Mason University.
