Giovanni Sutanto has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and companies. Giovanni is currently working at Intrinsic as a Senior Software Engineer, a position they have held since February 2023. Prior to this, they worked as a Software Engineer at Intrinsic from July 2021 to February 2023. Before their time at Intrinsic, Giovanni worked as a Software Engineer at X, the moonshot factory from July 2020 to July 2021.

Giovanni's earlier work experience includes serving as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Computational Learning & Motor Control (CLMC) Lab and Robotic Embedded Systems Lab (RESL) from August 2015 to July 2020. Giovanni also worked at Facebook AI as a Research Intern from August 2019 to December 2019.

Giovanni has contributed to various research institutions as well. Giovanni served as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems from May 2015 to June 2019. Additionally, Giovanni gained experience as a Robotics Research Summer Intern at NVIDIA from May 2018 to August 2018.

In the early stages of their career, Giovanni worked as a Volunteer Research Assistant at the Polymorphic Robotics Laboratory (PRL) from September 2013 to August 2014. Giovanni also worked as a Robotics Engineer at ABB Robotics from November 2010 to June 2013 and as a Research Assistant at the Autonomous Vehicle Research Group (AVRG) from October 2009 to July 2010. Furthermore, they gained experience as a Visiting Research Assistant at the UEC Kanamori Laboratory from November 2008 to August 2009.

Giovanni Sutanto has an extensive education history in the field of computer science, robotics, and electrical engineering. Giovanni obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Computer Science (Robotics) from the University of Southern California in August 2020. Prior to this, they earned a Master of Science (M.S.) in Computer Science (Intelligent Robotics) from the same university between 2013 and 2015.

Before attending the University of Southern California, Giovanni completed their Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering (Control Engineering) at Institut Teknologi Bandung from 2005 to 2010. Additionally, they pursued Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) from MIT OpenCourseWare, Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence) from Udacity, Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence) from edX, and Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence) from Coursera, all in 2013 and beyond.

Moreover, Giovanni acquired a Non-Degree in Japanese University Studies in Science and Technology from The University of Electro-Communications during 2008-2009. Alongside their formal education, Giovanni has obtained several certifications, including a Doctor of Philosophy in Computer Science from the University of Southern California in August 2020, as well as certifications in various computer science-related subjects such as parallel programming, artificial intelligence for robotics, probabilistic graphical models, foundations of computer graphics, and machine learning, among others.
