Dario Giovannelli earned their M.A.(Hons) in History from The University of Edinburgh from 1993 to 1997. Dario then pursued a PG Dip in Law at Leeds Beckett University from 1998 to 1999. In 1999-2000, they attended Nottingham Law School to obtain their BVC degree in Law. As a UNESCO Research Scholar from 1997 to 1998 at the University of Hull, Giovannelli specialized in studying the history of slavery in the New World.
