Gunsel Yildirim has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. In 1997, they started working as a Photographer for National Geography traveler Gezi Magazine in Turkey, a position they held until 2001. From 1998 to 2002, they worked as a Photographer for Turkish Airlines-Skylife Magazine. In 2004, they transitioned to the International Center of Photography as a Teacher Assistant. Lastly, in 2007, they joined the National Museum of the American Indian - Smithsonian Institution as an Information role.

Gunsel Yildirim completed a Bachelor's degree in Business/Managerial Economics from Anadolu University between 1985 and 1990.
