Malcolm Leask has extensive experience in the spirits industry, holding various leadership roles in several companies. Malcolm is currently the Managing Director of International Beverage, where they oversee the operations of multiple distilleries and international facilities. Prior to this, they served as the Vice President of Sales, both in the UK and internationally. Malcolm also serves as a Council Member for the Scotch Whisky Association and as a Director on the Supervisory Board of LARSEN Cognac. Additionally, they have held positions in the Cardrona Distillery and The Scotch Whisky Experience. Malcolm's career began in 1994 as the General Manager of Sichuan Tuo Pai - Inver House Joint Venture Company, and they have since held various sales and marketing roles in Inver House Distillers. Malcolm also serves as a Non-Executive Director for Wineflair Belfast Ltd, a local off-license chain in Northern Ireland.
Malcolm Leask earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Strathclyde Business School in 1992-1993. In 2023, they completed a program in High Performance Leadership (HPL) from IMD, specializing in Organizational Leadership. Malcolm received a Certificate of Achievement in Non-Executive Director Programme from the University of Edinburgh Business School in 2021. Malcolm also obtained a Certificate in Executive Coaching & Mentoring from The Edinburgh Coaching Academy in 2015-2016.
In addition to their education, Malcolm Leask has obtained various certifications. Malcolm is a Liveryman of The Worshipful Company of Distillers and a Freeman of The City of London, both in 2019. Malcolm became a Master of the Quaich in 2011 and a Kentucky Colonel in 2004. Malcolm is a Fellow of The Chartered Institute of Marketing (FCIM) since 2003 and a Keeper of the Quaich since 2001. Malcolm has also been a Member of The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) since 1992.
