Chris Simms has a diverse work experience in the healthcare industry. Chris began their career in 2000 at Celator Pharmaceuticals, where they served as the Operations & Administrative Manager. In 2003, they joined the British Columbia Cancer Agency as the Research Operations Manager and later became the Director of Regional Operations at the Vancouver Cancer Centre. In 2012, they moved to Northern Health - BC, where they held the position of Health Services Administrator and later served as the Interim Chief Operating Officer. Currently, they work as the Executive Director Clinical Operations - North Okanagan at Interior Health Authority. Throughout their career, Chris has consistently demonstrated their commitment to improving patient care and achieving organizational goals.
Chris Simms completed their education with a Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry from Simon Fraser University in 1999. They later pursued an Executive Masters of Business Administration (EMBA) with a focus on Healthcare from The University of British Columbia, which they completed between 2008 and 2010. Additionally, they participated in two programs offered by the BC Health Experienced Leaders Program - Transformation Linx in 2015 and Experience Linx (Clear Leadership) in 2012.
