Steven J. Sanders

Steven J. Sanders has a diverse work experience spanning over four decades. Steven J. began their career at Arthur Andersen & Company as a Staff Auditor and System Consultant from 1983 to 1984. Steven J. then joined Citi and held various roles, such as Director Marketing Analysis, Vice President Financial Analysis, and Manager Credit Policy from 1986 to 1993. During this time, they significantly contributed to the growth of the North American Consumer Bank by utilizing advanced targeting technology to increase card member acquisitions by 20% and developing a credit risk assessment system for a $15 billion credit card portfolio.

From 1993 to 1996, Sanders served as Vice President of Market Risk Management at Citi, where they oversaw market risk for an $800 million revenue trading operation and established daily market risk limits for various trading desks. Steven J. also played a crucial role in the Trading and Capital Markets division as Vice President and Director of Structured Product Development from 1996 to 1998. In this role, they led the development and implementation of a $3 billion Derivative/FX trading receivable asset-backed security program, achieving off-balance-sheet treatment for the issuance of Commercial Paper.

Sanders embarked on a new venture in 2001, joining Interactive Brokers as the Executive Vice President of Marketing & Product Development. Steven J. was a key member of the steering committee responsible for building a global direct access broker from scratch, resulting in the establishment of a 2.1 million-account brokerage with $2.0 billion in pretax profit. Throughout their career, Sanders displayed strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and expertise in marketing, product development, risk management, and technology.

Steven J. Sanders completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting/Computer Science at Suny@Albany from 1979 to 1983. Steven J. later pursued their Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Finance at The University of Chicago Booth School of Business from 1984 to 1986.
