Michael McClain has extensive work experience in the financial industry, with a focus on operations and technology. Michael currently serves as the Head of Client Operations North America at Interactive Brokers since April 2021. Prior to that, from April 2017 to April 2021, they worked as the Managing Director & General Manager of Equities Clearing at The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC). Before joining DTCC, they held various roles at OCC, including Chief Operating Officer from January 2014 to March 2017, and Executive Vice President of Business Development/Operations from January 2010 to December 2013. Michael also served as Senior Vice President of Business Operations from January 2006 to December 2009, and as First Vice President of Clearing Applications Development from July 2001 to December 2005. Prior to their time at OCC, they worked as the Director of Financial Systems Development at Comdisco from July 1999 to July 2001, and as a Senior Manager in Financial Services at Accenture from July 1996 to July 1999. Michael began their career at IBM, where they held the role of Manager from May 1990 to July 1996.
Michael McClain earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management from 2004 to 2006. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Management Information Systems from Lewis University, where they studied from 1987 to 1991. Additionally, Michael holds several certifications, including the Series 24 from FINRA and the Series 3 and Series 7 from the National Futures Association and FINRA, respectively.
