Victoria Porley has a diverse range of work experience. Victoria recently joined IGS Limited as a Water Scientist in May 2022. Prior to that, they worked at The University of Edinburgh from September 2018 to December 2022, where they were a PhD Student conducting research on advancing photocatalytic water treatment methods and bridging the gap between laboratory research and practical implementation for communities in rural India. Additionally, they worked as a Tutor and Laboratory Demonstrator, assisting in undergraduate teaching and training new teaching staff.

Before their time at Edinburgh, Victoria worked as a Food and Beverage Server at Fairmont St Andrews from October 2017 to June 2018, delivering five-star customer service and gaining skills in teamwork, communication, and professional conduct.

Victoria also gained research experience through internships, including one at Universität Kassel in Germany from June 2016 to August 2016, where they focused on optimizing drying conditions for beef preservation, and another at Newcastle University in 2012 as part of the Nuffield Bursary Scheme, where they investigated the efficiency of solar voltaic and solar thermal panels.

Additionally, Victoria completed a week-long work experience placement at FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies in July 2012, where they shadowed scientists across multiple departments and learned about research methods and laboratory safety.

Victoria Porley has a strong educational background in chemistry and materials engineering.
